“From Lived Experience to Leadership”

Our
Story
Peer-led reentry, employment, and restoration work rooted in lived experience and community accountability.
ALHH began in 2003 in response to a gap I saw (created and lived): the hours and days immediately after release are when people face the highest risk and the fewest supports.
What started as bad choices, misinformation and lack of self-control, trauma and so much more grew into a peer-led organization focused on reentry stabilization, recovery navigation, and storytelling as a tool for dignity and healing.
Over time, ALHH expanded into a Reentry Support initiative, building a model that starts “at the door” with same-day support and structured follow-up.
Today, we serve Ohio by connecting justice-impacted individuals and families to verified resources, warm handoffs, and community-based support—led by people who’ve lived it.
